BALMAIN MAKES ITS WAY INTO HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY
BALMAIN is a fashion house created by French designer Pierre Balmain known for sophistication and elegance in 1945. The house at first started off showcasing long bell-shaped skirts with small waists that became popular as Dior's new look. In 1951, he opened branches in the U.S. selling ready to wear clothes. During the 50's he popularized the stole for day and evening wear as well as sheath dresses beneath jackets. Balmain's talent lay in his ability to make grand evening gowns and simple tailored suits using slender and elegant lines.
Passing away in 1982, Balmain's designs, most notably his vintage couture gowns still remain popular amongst the international jet-setters, movie stars, and socially prominent women. After his death, the house was taken over by Erik Mortensen and Oscar de la Renta [1993-2001] who brought classic, luxurious designs. Until 2011, the house was led by Christophe Decarnin who brought a more modern and edgier take. This past April of this year, Olivier Rousteing took over Balmain.
Seeing his designs make an appearance at the MTV Movie Awards this past Sunday made me intrigued to find out who this designer was. Kristen Stewart, Leighton Meester, and Mila Kunis wore his designs that night. What is also popular are the Balmain jackets that are military styled, very Michael Jackson-esque seen on Beyonce and Rihanna. Looking at his beautiful designs that have inspired designers after him, make me one day dream to wear one of the famous designs, I would be completely honored.

Rihanna and Chris Brown follow each other on Twitter
Fans are upset with the pop singer, who broke off her relationship with Brown after he opened a can on her face a couple of years back, because she made the choice to follow Brown on Twitter.
One fan, who turns out to be 14 tweeted this to Rihanna
"I never thought you would go back to him! You better not, it's your life but you do have ppl that look up to you. e.g young girls."
Rihanna then shot back
"Its f--kin twitter, not the alter! Calm down"
This next part may or may not have happened- its reported she told her friends "its not like he can punch me through Twitter.....can he?"

RI-RI'S "CALIFORNIA KING BED" MUSIC VIDEO!!!
I saw Rihanna perform this beautiful song on American Idol a few weeks ago. It's a different take on her usual upbeat songs she's known for, but this song carries a lot of meaning that many people can relate to. Check the video!!!
Chest to chest
Nose to nose
Palm to palm
We were always just that close
Wrist to wrist
Toe to toe
Lips that felt just like the inside of a rose
So how come when I reach out my finger
It feels like more than distance between us
In this California king bed
We're 10,000 miles apart
I've been California wishing on these stars
For your heart on me
My California king
Eye to eye
Cheek to cheek
Side by side
You were sleeping next to me
Arm in arm
Dusk to dawn
With the curtains drawn
And a little last night on these sheets
So how come when I reach out my fingers
It seems like more than distance between us
In this California king bed
Were 10000 miles apart
I've been California wishing on these stars
For your heart on me
My California king
Just when I felt like giving up on us
You turned around and gave me one last touch
That made everything feel better
And even then my eyes got wetter
So confused wanna ask you if you love me
But I don't wanna seem so weak
Maybe I've been California dreaming
In this California king bed
Were 10000 miles apart
I've been California wishing on these stars
For your heart on me
My Californa king
My California King
In this California king bed
Were 10000 miles apart
I've been California wishing on these stars
For your heart on me
My California king

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN ::ROYALLY UNIQUE::
Alexander McQueen's fashion will live on forever. Case in point, his house was responsible for Princess Kate Middleton's wedding dress this past Friday. Of course the designer was Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who was his long term assistant and is currently the Creative Director for the fashion hause since his suicide last year...
Alexander McQueen was a great and innovative designer who was renown in London, but made his influence all the way to the U.S. He was always pushing the boundaries on his fashion designs and fashion shows, giving mixed reviews from critics, but nowadays regarded as GENIUS.
But was McQueen the obvious choice for Kate Middleton's dress? Though potential designers were also up for the running, Alexander McQueen seemed like the best choice. He has a history on regal designs that gave the hint of a potential big wedding dress opportunity in the future. At his apprenticeship at Savile Row early in his fashion career, his clients were Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev!!!
CHECK OUT HIS REGAL DESIGNS!!! His unique style caught the attention of the biggest names in the fashion and media: KATE MOSS, SARAH JESSICA PARKER, NAOMI CAMPBELL, STELLA MCCARTNEY, BJORK, KANYE WEST, ANNA WINTOUR, RIHANNA, KATY PERRY, NICOLE KIDMAN, PENELOPE CRUZ AND MOST NOTABLY LADY GAGA TODAY.
