Russian plane crash leaves 44 dead
BESOVETS, Russia (AFP) – A Russian plane exploded into flames after crashing on a highway just short of its airport, killing 44 and leaving eight survivors fighting for their lives, officials said on Tuesday.
The RusAir Tupolev 134 was trying to land at its destination of Petrozavodsk in the Karelia region of northwestern Russia in bad weather but failed to make the runway and instead hurtled onto a road two kilometres (1.25 miles) away.
Investigators said it was too early to jump to conclusions but Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said the crash appeared the result of an error by the pilot who has tried to spot the runway visually in bad weather, and failed.

Man Robs Bank for $1
The part of this story that's getting attention across the nation is that James Verone of Gaston County, N.C., decided that the only way he could get adequate health care and a solid roof over his head would be to get himself arrested for trying to rob a bank of $1.
Verone, 59, says he has several medical problems, including a growth on this chest and two ruptured disks. He also says he's out of work and has no insurance.
So, according to Verone, that's why he walked into a bank in Gastonia earlier this month and gave a teller a note that said "This is a bank robbery. Please only give me one dollar." Then, he waited for the police.

Convicted Felon Confesses to Tupac Robbery and Shooting(Implicates Puffy): Starting East West Feud
Although he only clearly references the robbery and shooting in 94 the internet seems to think he confessed to the death. He says he wanted to give Tupac and Biggie's mothers closure and claims he will "do so at a different time."
The web was abuzz with reports of the Tupac shooting confession after AllHipHop.com posted a letter by convicted felon, Dexter Issac, who says in 1994 he was paid by James Rosemond to rob the rapper outside of Quad Studio.
“He [Rosemond] gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Synthia Ried. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery," said the letter.

He also implicates Puffy with the following:
"Now I'm not going to talk about my friend Biggie's death or 2Pac's death, but I would like to give their mothers some closure. It's about time that some one did, and I will do so at a different time," Isaac continued ominously. "Jimmy, you and Puffy like to come off all innocent-like, but as the saying goes: You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. Mr. Rosemond, I ask you: Are you going to flip on Puffy when the feds get you? To save yourself like you have done in the past?"

Pro-life groups call for Pepsi boycott
I think even if you are for abortion and stem cell research you still find this pretty creepy and wrong.
"Pepsi is funding the research and development, and paying royalties to Senomyx, which uses HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for Pepsi beverages.
“Using isolated human taste receptors we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor,” says the Senomyx website.

Weiner Told Porn Star to Lie
Details about congressman Weiner's cyber bitches keep coming out and the more we learn we realize that Mr. Weiner truly is a dick.
Weiner and former porn star Ginger Lee exchanged scores of sexual emails over a long period of time. When the underwear scandal broke on May 28, Lee began receiving calls from the media, and Weiner was more than happy to help her control the situation ... by lying.
On June 2, Weiner emailed Lee, "Do you need to talk to a professional PR type person to give u advice? I can have someone on my team call. [Yeah, my team is doing great. Ugh]."
It's unclear if Weiner's PR team is from his Congressional staff. If so, Weiner could run afoul of House Ethics Rules as well as the law.

Homeland Security testing mind-reading terrorist detectors
"Many times, technologies from popular science fiction movies have later blended with real science and technology to become reality. Deployment of just such surveillance technology, somewhere between mind-reading machines and a 'pre-crime' program, is currently being tested against real life to remotely detect terrorists or assassins, to find people with malicious intentions.

Congressman Weiner Can't Say "With Certitude" if it was his Weiner
Congressman Anthony Weiner has admitted that he can't say "with certitude" whether or not a lewd photo that was sent from his Twitter account to a 21-year-old college coed is of him.
The scandal erupted Friday when a photo of a man’s bulging crotch, clad in grey brief underwear, was posted from Weiner's official Twitter account addressed to Gennette Cordova, a college student from Seattle, but visible for all to see.
